Don't Forget WNC

On September 27th, Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina. Lives were lost, people's homes were gone in a matter of moments, and businesses were destroyed.

Myself and ten others from Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant recently had the privilege of joining Robert and April Knight of Gather Asheville on a mission to make a tangible difference. While their home was spared, the lives of Robert, April, and their four children have been radically changed. Since Hurricane Helene, their property has become a hub for recovery, already hosting 400 volunteers from across the country. April has been managing donation distribution, while Robert has been managing many home restorations.

Our small group of volunteers from Seacoast came together to roll up our sleeves and help rebuild homes for those who lost so much. Making a difference doesn’t require a huge team or a big budget. It only requires a willingness to act. Whether by volunteering your time or donating what you can, your efforts can have a meaningful impact.

Gather Asheville is organizing volunteers, building homes, raising money for those in need, and providing emotional support to the community.
