One of the most significant benefits of failure is the opportunity to learn and grow. Each setback presents a chance to analyze what went wrong, identify areas for improvement, and adjust our approach.

Many organizations have done the same things over and over while expecting different results. This applies to team building & bonding as well.

They gather the team together then do trust falls. Or they leave the office for a 2 hour ropes course excursion. Or they take the team bowling one afternoon.

Then leaders are surprised when the teams aren't magically communicating and working cohesively the next day.

Is your organization willing to change?

Many leaders stand by the most dangerous phrase in business: "This is how it's always been done." They have this stale mindset that just because something has worked in the past, the business never has to change.

The "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mindset shows leaders who are only thinking about the day to day. They can't get outside this mindset to see the big picture and imagine the great heights their business could reach through dynamic change.

Our thoughts shape our reality. If we think positively, we are more likely to attract positive outcomes. The same is true with the opposite of attracting negative outcomes. This is the power of positive thinking.

Positive thinking can help us cultivate a growth mindset, which can help us achieve our goals.

When you first built your company’s business model, you likely spent hours, days, or weeks imagining every detail. You probably envisioned your product and purpose, your audience and clientele, a state-of-the-art office space, and top talent knocking down the doors to become part of your team.

But did your vision include a plan for keeping that talent engaged, productive, and dedicated to your mission?

It can be difficult to decide what events are worth attending. You want to learn, network, and have a good time. You need to get your money's worth. Your time is valuable and you don't want to waste it on unproductive events.

Be INTENTIONAL with the events you attend.

Do your research. Determine your goals. Create a budget for business outings. Ask about who else is attending. Check out the event website to discover who is speaking, what breakout sessions will be available and how you can learn from the material being presented.

Do your employees enjoy sitting through hours of online training? Do they leap for joy over boring 'team building' that takes place in the 'boredroom'?
